I have purchased this very well preserved Austin Metro Vanden Plas in October 2003 from a gentleman in Bremgarten (Switzerland), a true expert of British cars of that period. This Austin Metro had only 42’230 km on the tachometer. The Vanden Plas version used to be the top-of-the-range version. This included an odometer, a glass sunroof and front headrests. What was really unusual to find in a small car in the 1980s was an interior with leather seats and real wood fascia. The following pictures will give you an idea of that lovely car. A shame that this brand has since disappeared from our roads…
